Meet Naheed and Yusra Murad. Naheed and Yusra are not only mother-and-daughter but also co-leaders of ZACAH (Zakat, Aid and Charity Assist Humanity). When the COVID-19 pandemic and the Uprising following George Floyd's murder left thousands of Minnesotans without secure housing, ZACAH became one of the only organizations to provide an immediate, unconditional hotel stay for anyone who needed it. Today, Naheed and Yusra are a pair of the most prominent advocates for supportive housing in Minnesota.

Meet Johanna Osman. Johanna is a lifelong entrepreneur making financial services accessible to Muslims who don't use interest. Alongside other community leaders, she founded Sakan Community Resource and advocates for zero-interest home mortgages and asset-based lending practices. In a time when predatory lending practices dominate the banking system, Johanna is disrupting the cycle to fulfill the dream of owning not just a house, but a home.

Meet Maya Soriano. Maya is a teacher and a leader in Montessori education, which places the autonomy of each child at the center of learning. Maya is the co-founder of Lirio, a micro-Montessori school that provides instruction and immersion in both English and Spanish. She believes that liberatory early childhood education is essential in cultivating strong, young leaders of color.

Juwaria is a 17-year-old student from North Minneapolis who became involved in the climate justice movement when she realized that environmental racism and air pollution were affecting her community's health. She joined Minnesota Youth for Climate Justice, where she brings an intersectional, anti-capitalist lens to climate activism.

Meet Annie Qaiser. Born in Karachi, Pakistan, Annie began to embrace her South Asian heritage and its healing traditions in college. By the time that she started her family, she was using these ingredients to create her own natural wellness products and has since started her own skincare line, Silk Road Wellness. As a Muslim woman small business owner, she encourages her entrepreneurial sisters to pursue their passions and use their faith as a guiding force.
